Over the weekend, our NRG Studios Allstars competition teams came together for something truly special — our annual Spirit Day. While we train hard, work toward national and international goals, and chase dreams on stage, we know that the heart of what we do isn’t medals. It’s connection.

At NRG, we believe that dance and cheerleading classes are about more than just movement — they’re about building a community where every child is seen, celebrated, and supported.

Creating Community Through Connection

The transition into competition season can be intense, especially for our younger team members. That’s why Spirit Day isn’t just a fun tradition — it’s a purposeful part of how we build our team culture and strengthen the bonds between our athletes, their teammates, and their families.

On Spirit Day, we made space for something that can get lost in the hustle of routines and rehearsals: heartfelt connection. We asked our students, parents, and coaches to write letters — messages filled with good luck, gratitude, and pride. Some were addressed to teammates, some to parents, and some to our beautiful students.

These small gestures matter. Because whether you’re three years old in our preschool dance classes, or sixteen and working toward Worlds, every student at NRG deserves to feel that they belong and that they’re supported by a whole team of people who believe in them.
